Why Manufacture of HD DVD Players Stopped

As we all know HD DVD Players have already become an obsolete techonology, with Toshiba ending production of their HD players in February of 2008. During that time, its rival format, Blu-ray, gained much of the support ranging from electronics makers, the movie distributors and the retailers. While the HD format was the first to be released, it got surpassed in terms of preference. Added to that, ordinary customers were confused on the difference of the two. So it became a matter of which format has the strongest supporters. Two years after HD’s release, Warner Bros, and retailers like Netflix, Wal-Mart and Best Buy announced they would support the Blu-ray format exclusively, prompting Toshiba to also end its support of HD.
