What pushchair?
Is it really worth spending the extra money on a Bugaboo system? The other pushchair I am considering is a Maclaren Techno, which is much cheaper and lighter.
It’s definatley worth spending decent money, your baby needs to be safe! Mamas and Papas do some lovely buggys too, have a look :

to be honest- if the Maclaren one suits your needs get that one- they get mucky so fast that it would break your heart to see an expensive pushchair covered in – god only knows what!!
they all do the same job at the end of the day- get what you are happy with!

The buggy that you buy will have to last and it will have to be comfortable…best tip i can give is ..imagine you are trying to get on a bus…how easy is it to close the buggy one-handed?…

Trust me on this one. Get the lighter one. When your baby starts gaining weight your arms gets pretty tired of heavier things. Plus their bulky and awkward and people want to kill you when your trying to maneuver it through store aisles.

do what you would want to do i would with the maclaren techno

it is worth spending the extra money. it keeps your baby quieter is she/he is comfortable and in years to come, when you have another one it will still be good

The cheaper lighter one, it’ll be easier to manoeuvre around the shops and they grow so quick they don’t really get the use out of anything

with both my boys i spent lots of money buying a huge travel system only to be fed up of it after 4 months then i bought a smaller maclaren buggy that was suitable from birth any way. so i suggest buying the lighter cheaper version

i have had big chuncky push chairs for both my kids when they where first born but as soon as they got bigger that was it. push chair was traded in for a lighter one. because you have the weight of your child/baby the weight of any shopping you dont want to end up with monkey arms. if you walk every where your push chair will last for 9 months or even longer my daughter has had hers for 9 months and the wheels are starting to wear down now after all this time and miles of walking. the lighter they are the easier they are to push and steer and you wont be taking out peoples ankles.

As someone who works in the nursery industry, I would say you get what you pay for. The Maclaren Techno is lightweight, but not the sturdiest model available. I usually ask my customers to consider their lifestyle when purchasing a new buggy or pram. Do you walk a lot, use public transport, or are you mainly using a car. All these have a bearing on which buggy is best for you. Bugaboo are expensive and there are other brands which are just as good but not so costly, however comparing them with Maclaren is like comparing oranges and apples. I suggest that you visit a reputable retailer, not purchase on-line, because then you can try the buggy out, how it folds, how heavy, etc. Also, even though on-line may seem cheaper, after sales service, which is very important, is hit and miss.

Take into consideration if you will be using your car or doing more walking, cause you will need something that is easy to fold and compact for you car boot. I bought a 3 wheeler and it not practical for the car but is great for the hills where i live.

No it is not worth it! In less than a years time you’ll want to get rid of it for a lighter more convenient model (a stroller)! That first answer you got was ridiculous, pushchairs aren’t unsafe, would they sell them if they were?!

One tip – make sure the handles are high enough for you. Some companies seem to think that pushers are 5′0 midget housewives from the 1960s! If it’s too low it’ll bugger your back up.

Bitter experience.
The Bugaboo is very popular as it is very stylish. You are correct the Maclaren Techno is much lighter. You are considering two very different pushchairs. Please read comments and reviews made by parents and if possible try them both at your local store. Take a look at http://www.mypushchair.co.uk which has customer reviews, price comparisons and lists all features so you can compare all releevant info. Good luck – hope you make the right choice!
