Choosing a pram?
I was hoping you could give me some advice on prams. I’ve had a look at some and these are the ones I like:
Maclaren Techno xt
Graco travel system (winnie the pooh)
Mamas and papas java aria travel system
Mamas and papas pramette (but probably wouldn’t fit in my car)
I drive and i’m not very strong so preferably one that’s small and not too heavy to get in and out of the car. I walk a bit too, usually around town. So which one do you think I should go for?? Any reviews or advice on them will be much appreciated.
Hi,
I had the Mamas and papas pramette and even with a ford Mondeo I found it took up most of the boot due to the length. One of the other young mums in my group started with the same and then went for an XT, she prefered this one saying that it actually felt sturdier than the Prammette. It was interesting that she did not drive though. I really valued the 3 in 1 system to get baby in and out of the car, especially in the winter.
The Mamas and papas java aria wasn’t around when I had Peter, but given that it is cheaper and lighter than the Pramette, I would be tempted to go for this one now.

If I had another baby I would buy the Mamas and papas java aria travel system.
DO NOT BUY THE GRACO ONE or a mothercare they r made by same ppl and there are little caps on the wheel and they r rubbish…they fall of mine came off in the middle of the road…luckily there was no traffic.
I went absolutley mental with them when I got home&phoned em!

I have the Graco mosaic and really like it – I’ve had no problems.
It’s light and easy to use.

My age is showing here.. A pram in my day was a two piece cover up in cold weather for infants.

I bought our daughter the Graco one, and she was well impressed with it – but you will have to replace the car seat part when the baby gets bigger (our little monkey kicks the hell out of the back seat) But you get a very good all round package, and they seem to be retaining their price second hand on e-bay!
Enjoy your baby, and go out and push a few around in the shops – ToysRus is a good shop, the staff seem to know their stuff!

I would go for the Pramette they fold up small and will keep you going till your little one is about 3. ( I had one for my eldest and it fitted in the boot of a fiesta). I do like the Aria though and is a better option if you are on a budget.
Good Luck x

I know you didn’t mention it but I have had 2 different silver cross prams (my baby is 10 months), and I absolutely love them! The 3D is good for the use you need it for.
Good luck and congrats!
PS if you do go with one of the ones you mentioned, please don’t get the graco one- I hate those graco prams, they look really cheap.

I’d check out online reviews and such, to see which ones are recommended. But it’s all personal preference.
For example, the buggy i choose is a travel system which is quite chunky and heavy, coz I like knowing that I’m actually pushing something. the heaviness kinda reassures me. BUT I don’t drive, so I don’t have a car to fit the buggy into.
I also liked the travel system as it seems to last for a bit longer age-wise because there’s so many ways to change them.
One bit of advice that I read is, make sure that anyone who’ll be using it regularly, ie husband/partner or grandparents, also like using it.
god luck!

I love the Maclaren. It’s light, sturdy, and I love that I can steer one handed. Also I’m a taller gal and I don’t have to bend or break stride.
