How Peers Influence Romantic Relationships
It is important to note that romantic relationships are not the only area on influence that peer have over each other however, it is a significant area of peer influence. The subject of romantic relationships is heavily influenced by close peer relationships because in another article on adolescent relationships, Brown identifies that romance as it relates to adolescents has its foundation more as an identity issue rather than a relational issue. As adolescents are maturing, a greater emphasis is placed on fitting in and establishing themselves among their peer group. In this stage of development, establishing a reputation is vitally important to young people.
