Ha ha, I like the column you wrote. I think that it will change to a love America party soon. But I think I'm starting to like this Bush guy tho. I want to hang out with him and see if he'll buy me a drink, ha ha.

Some will put down people b/c they have heard "they" are bad people. There are many reason why someone would put someone down. Just remember we can’t please the whole world and we will allways have haters. We will also have people from other countries that like us and want to visit the states. After all we are "the melting pot" people from different countries come here to live. So must not be "too bad". I want to know how come when didn’t study toliet paper in history class. That is just important as the telephone and such…right….lol. I’m glad we don’t have to use leaves…..yuck.

I agree. We need more people who can focus on positive and be optimistic. Those who dwell on failure and feed on drama can only hinder progress. I'm proud to be an American even though I'm not in agreement with everything that happens in our country. And I'm sad that so many others have chosen to spread negativity, lies, and gossip. People have taken advantage of our freedom, and used it to create hate and division. I'm hoping the future will be much brighter.

Some of your info is wrong. Americans didnt invent the automobile. The Germans invented the very first car in the late 1800s. America was just the first to have them readily available.

I so much agree with most of what you say, but not all of it. Do you ever wonder why there are people around the world hating America ( and not Americans I have to say )?
American policy around the world has been very hurtful for locals. I’m Greek, and my country is considered to be one of the most anti-american ones. Why? Because your government through CIA was responsible for the junta that was inflicted in my country in ‘67. People suffered and died because of this. At the time we were just coming out of a world war and a "beautiful" civil war. Your country’s help made us go back years.Instead of prosperity we got darkness.Old history for you, right? Not for us.
Americans are an amazing people. Just like every other people in the world. You are not the only ones inventing things you know.There are others too. And even if we accept that you have contributed the most in that field, that doesn’t mean you are beyond judgement.
I believe that the american people aren’t evil or stupid by nature as some might think. But you are responsible for the governments you vote for, and for the fact that you allow them, in your name, to do terrible things around the world. And you don’t react. At least the majority of you.
Not that my government doesn’t suck too. The difference is that mine, doesn’t go around the world "exporting democracy" like yours. Who told you that you are the ones possesing the best democracy in the whole world? And moreover, who told you that you have to share it with the rest of us? Please don’t!!!! Let us deal with our problems alone.
But you do realize that it’s all about money and power don’t you? I think you allow too much interference in your political life from rich companies and people. Your presidents get elected with rich people’s money. These people expect a pay back later on.
God bless America? Why not Kenya or Finland or Tuvalu islands? Do you really think you are God’s chosen country? I’ve always wondered about that…… What are the rest of us?

P.S. Sorry, I was away. Perhaps I didn’t express myself correctly, my english isn’t that good. By saying a few things about our history, I just wanted to point out that there are reasons about that negative sentiment around the world towards the U.S. I really don’t mean that this sentiment applies to every american! I don’t hate the american people.Neither does the majority of people around the world. I just wish you could do something to stop bad things from happening, before they do. Naive way of thinking I know. And I DO know that there are americans who do not fully agree with their government’s policies. Forgive me if I sounded aggresive. That wasn’t my intention. I just wanted to emphasize. And I don’t think I’m beeing racist here.
Old history is old history and we shouldn’t stick to it, yes. However it is something that is still present. Especially when there are still people around who have lived it. That makes our criticism more….aggresive perhaps.

I think it’s mostly American arrogance that people hate. I read one pareagraph and I stopped.

"we invented the telephone, the TV, the internet, the satellite, the radio, the light bulb, the nuclear bomb, the telegraph…."

As far as I know, the internet, and lightbulb were invented by Americans, but not the rest wholly.

A good and valid rant. Well done. I love America but I haven't always loved certain Americans, American policies, American culture, or American leaders. I am very excited that our new cultured, intelligent, poised president might bring some of those qualities back to America.

andlets have a look at the money crisis greedy bastard that run these giant companies kep getting massive wages then go broke and the rest of the world suffers

dumb ar*e yanks wake up // not that all people hate you just some of your policies that affect the rest of world
