what do radio stations require for employment?
I would like to become a radio personality! I have the heart and desire to, but i need help on getting started. I would like to know what it really is that radio stations are looking for. Degree? Experience?
A good voice, good reading skills, good personality, decent appearance and the desire to work crummy hours for low pay. Call your local radio station and see if you can volunteer and work your way into the busines that way. Radio voicing is almost a thing of the past so don’t waste your time getting a degree in media. Volunteer, learn the biz and work a few holidays.

Does anybody know of radio stations willing to take on a student for work experience?
In dire need of work experience in media in the Louth, Meath, Down or Armagh area.
I am a fifth year student looking for a placement. My main interest would be radio producing or sound engineering. The placement is for one week in February 2010. Ive already contact places such as BBC, RTE, LMFM and many other stations in Dublin area too. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
why don’t you send them a nice covering letter with your academic CV?

Do radio stations keep archives of their playlists from many years ago?
I want to know if it’s common practice for radio stations to archive their daily playlists, and if they allow the public to view them. I’d like to get a list of what was played on someone’s birthday 10 years ago.
do to royalties which the artist receive, if there is a dispute they can find out exactly what song and at what time the song was played, but because the statute of limitation i think they only have records for the past 7 years and it is kept by a private corporation that oversees the radio station.

Does anyone know of any good dark alternative web radio stations?
I’m looking for a few good web radio stations and podcasts, since the ones I used to listen to seem to have died. I love lots of different types of industrial, EBM, darkwave, medieval, and the like. I’m also a fan of symphonic and power metal, but not of death metal. (If the vocals are screamy or whiny, I’m not listening– sorry emo kids.) I don’t mind music in languages I don’t understand, either– half of my collection is in German and Latin!
Thanks in advance for your help!
I have searched the internet and found these sites you can listen online to radio stations that are streaming live;
here is a list of websites to try below.

How to get radio stations without static?
I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado and I listen to FM 104.3 – The Fan. It’s a sports radio located in Denver, Colorado. I get it about 70% clear then the other 30% is static. Is there like, an adapter or something Walmart or Radio shack sells that you can plug into your 12v slot in your car that will make you get radio stations better or something like that? Thanks
The problem may be that your antenna cable has come disconnected from behind your head unit…This is actually fairly common and most people will not look to see if this in fact what happened prior to replacing the radio…take a look at it and if everything is where it should be I would recommend buying a new deck…

What are (if any) the German internet radio stations that play modern pop songs mainly in German?
I am trying to find German music. I want to experience something new, and besides I studied German language in college; I liked it. I went through German/Austrian internet radio stations and surprisingly – there are basically no (modern) songs in German!!! You must listen half an hour to music in English until you finally get to hear something in German, and that’s on the so called German radio stations! I hope I didn’t find the right ones, otherwise I could only feel sad for such situation.
that’s pretty much how it is in europe – songs are mostly in english and movies are mostly translations of american films. i suggest going to youtube and just looking up german music

How to listen to local radio stations on my computer?
Hello!
Does anyone know how do I listen to local radio stations online or on my comp?
There are two answers and therefore two ways you can do this. The first way is via the internet, where you can use the radio stations own website and where quite often you can click an icon and that will allow you to listen to the station. Also if the station is a BBC station the BBC have links to all of their stations from the main BBC website.
The second way is through a radio receiver card which would look similar to a TV dongle that you may use to watch the TV. Connecting to a USB socket and basically turning your computer into a radio. You may also get the internet option via Windows Media player which has an online media section allowing you to view film ad’s and also listen to the radio from all over the world!

What are the highest ranked listened to internet radio stations in the Houston Texas area?
Looking in to advertising with one company that states our ad would run on their internet radio stations and go out to anybody listening to one of their stations in our specific zip code area. I don’t know if there are any neilson ratings for internet radio stations or not or even if this company is worth spending money on in the first place. In any event, I need to find out if there is a way to discover the most popular and highest ranked internet listened to radio stations.
How do you find this out? By bandwidth?
