Fish or Fowl?
I recently found a fish tank for sale It was listed in the classified ads of my local newspaper. I went and checked it out. I’m not sure what size it is yet but, it’s bigger than a 50 gallon tank. When I went and checked it out the whole bottom was covered with bird droppings and feathers. She said she was a bird breeder and used to keep the baby chicks in it with a heat lamp to help them stay warm. Well I got the tank for a steal at 25.00$. My so called great deal turned into a real pain! Nothing like having to tar and feather yourself cleaning a fish tank!!

I’ll see you and raise you!
No, I’m not referring to poker, I’m referring to that old tank in your room!
Have you out a seaclear aquarium? Well, these are some of the nicest looking tanks you can buy. I just love their new bow front designed tank. This gives the aquarium of a bay window at the front of the tank. This is only possible with acrylic tanks. The look is truly unique and is certainly a great attention grabber. This tank also has a low refractive material which means fish don’t look distorted. I’d get rid of that clunker tank and upgrade to a real masterpiece!

Fish can be so much fun
The increasing popularity of fish keeping is testimony to the hours of enjoyment that can be derived from this fascinating hobby. The relentless motion of the fish, the attractive and contemporary designs of aquariums, the coloured gravel now obtainable, the colourful backgrounds which can be inserted and other features, all add to the enjoyment possible and make your aquarium, not just something taking up space but an exciting addition to your décor. Many people who would not otherwise ever have considered this as a hobby they would wish to be involved in, upon seeing what is available, have suddenly become hooked and are now avid aquarists.

Flea Home Remedies
I am sure that most pet owners have had to deal with the problems caused by fleas at one time or another. You probably love your dog or cat, and are truly bothered by seeing them scratch and wiggle around from being bitten over and over again by fleas. Some pets are even allergic to fleas, so you want to get rid of them, but donít want to use flea powders and such that may have toxic ingredients in them. Yes, there are a few flea collars that you can get from pet stores and veterinarians that are safe and effective, but they are usually expensive. It really starts to add up if you have multiple pets, and since I do, I have looked into alternative and less costly methods that can be done at home.
One method is putting some garlic and/or brewers yeast into the food of your cat or dog. The theory is that fleas donít like it and after it gets into the bloodstream of your pet, the fleas wonít want to bite them anymore, and will either starve or leave for greener pastures.
Mixing four parts borax and one part salt together and sprinkling it over your carpet is another popular method. This mixture works by settling down in the carpet where the fleas are. It kills the fleas by dehydrating them, and also kills the eggs they lay. Then you can just vacuum it all up in a few days and be done. It is important to leave the mixture in the carpet for at least a few days though, so it will have time to properly dehydrate the fleas. Some people prefer to not let toddlers and small children on the carpet while this is being done, even though it is said not to be toxic to animals.
You can also put rock salt into small trays and put it under the furniture. Make sure you put it out of sight and out of reach of pets and small children. And it is not terribly effective against eliminating fleas, but it will slow down the rate at which they multiply.
Other more tedious and less effective methods are also available. Combing the carpet for fleas is very slow and time consuming, and only works on the immediate problem. Putting moth balls in your vacuum cleaner bag may kill the fleas and eggs that happen to get caught in there, but also isnít very effective.

Osteoarthritis in Dogs
Many dogs suffer from joint pain, which is very similar to that suffered by people. Some dogs breeds such as Labs, Golden Retreivers, Bloodhounds, St. Bernards, Boxers and Rottweilers are particularly predisposed to arthritis due to age-related cartilage degeneration. The most common form of arthritis in dogs, especially the breeds mentioned above, is osteroarthritis. Osteoarthritis in dogs is a slowly progressing disease that occurs due to the breakdown and destruction of your dog’s cartilage. As the arthritis gets much worse, the dogs bones begin to grind against one another causing very bad pain, reducing the animals flexibility, increasing inflammation, and reducing pets mobility.

Overview of Dog Training Styles-Part 1
There are not so many different training styles as there are trainers as believed by most. In spite of being individuals, trainers can be classified into clearly defined categories.
The readily frustrated
Other than human child rearing there is nothing that demands so much of one’s patience and commitment than soliciting the desired behavior from a dog. Unfortunately, not all humans possess that much inherently. So it is very important to self-train as it is to train the dog.
Prepare yourself to commit at least half hour to one hour daily to train the dog. The instant you feel that you cannot take it any more, whether that occurs in just 10 or 30 minutes, stop the session. Try hard to increase this limit of your endurance gradually every day.
