How do I start an Online Radio Station?
I have 20+ years of radio programming and would like to launch a site that streams music content and DJs and eventually has ads. Looking for an affordable turn key solution where I can create content with Musicmaster or Selector at my home that will stream online, possibly have a listener cap to avoid outrageous license fees until I can attract sponsor or investor. Where do I start?
Hi there,
I just started a business called Investifieds. We connect entrepreneurs like yourself and investors. It’s located at www.investifieds.com. It’s free and we are marketing to media investors.
Best of luck!

How can I pick up radio stations on my Police Scanner?
I have a Radio Shack Pro-2018 scanner, and I was wondering if, and how I could pick up radio stations on it.
Where could I find a list of of conversions? Or is it simple, like if I want 107.7 then I put 107,700 in my scanner?
You want to listen to an FM broadcast station (like KABC hits 95)?
Forget it unless the scanner was specifically designed for this (I’ve not seen one that was). Why?
A police scanner is meant (primarily) to receive FM signals with a 5 KHz deviation, some (especially older ones) will accept up to a 15 KHz deviation. Anything more and the discriminator (the circuit that retrieves the audio from the signal) will clip and distort.
An FM broadcast station uses a 75 KHz deviation, impossible to receive on the scanner because it saturates the detector causing clipping and distortion, also the filter in the scanner would not pass the signal thru when it was being modulated because it would be constantly going outside the passband of the filter.
It would be the equivalent of turning your hearing aid up all the way and then standing directly in front of the speaker at a rock concert. It is sure to be loud but so distorted you wont understand a thing.
No harm in trying I suppose. Instead of programming in something like 155.805 for the local PD, you would put in 105.700 for FM 105.7 but I’ll bet that the scanner will return an error if you do.

A maclaren techno xt or mamas and papas pramette ?
I have been doing research into the both and like them equally but want some advice in which to choice. I will be using it from birth as this is my first baby and as i use public transport(buses) need something lightweight and practically which they both are. There is a price difference in the both but feel that as i would need a stroller at a later date is it worth going for the maclaren.Has anyone got either -negatives and postives please!
thank you
if you are on and off buses a lot then the maclaren is more practical. to be honest its what we class a working buggy… its designed by aircraft engineers and is much more robust than the pramette.the pramette is very popular and also very good, but more a stroll around town buggy. its easy to fold etc but not as durable in the long run as a stayer.i’ve been in retail for a long time and maclaren always seems to come out tops. we sell m&p too so i’m not biased.go to a retailer if your research has only been the internet.ask anyone you meet in the street using either, ask what they think.the pramette has th advantage of having the baby facing you for the first few months and it has slightly more padding, but adding the extra footmuff to the xt makes it just as cosy.
